To be married to someone w/ the same beliefs. Outside of that can cause stress in the marriage. If you truly want to be"one" with your spouse- you should be equally yoked.
It means that both people have the same beliefs and values mostly pertaining to Christianity, but also in raising children, finances, educations and so on.
I was taught that it meant marry someone who was in your same religion.....but that is not all there is to it. Two people going to the same church may still be unequal in their relationship with God. Now, I know that everyone is in a different place in their spiritual growth...but as long as both people are on the ACTIVELY on the "upward path"...then they can be compatible...or "equally yoked". If one is active and the other is not.....you can pray for them, but I think it slows the active one down more.
