Can you share advice and stories or wisdom about being in an unequally yoked marriage? For those of us who are Christian believers involved in marriages to a spouse who is unsaved and/or following another false religion.How do you cope with the spiritual divide?how do u gather courage and strength to witness to a spouse who may be hostile and angry to hear the word of God?How do you get over the feelings of spiritual lonliness how do you cope with your spouses other religion?What are some words of advice?????or experiences that you have had. I was unsaved when i met my husband,i followed his religion for the first year of marriage and then came to Christ.This has caused me to be unequally yoked.

What does it mean to be equally yoked in marriage?

Is there a positive outcome for unequally yoked marriages? I am a Christian woman; although I definitely have some negative down sides to my personality (impatient), I love the Lord and always envisioned myself being involved in a Christian marriage. My husband and I have very similar background structures. Nevertheless, his structure turned out completely different from mine (family). I wasn't fully cognizant of this until recently. Often times I want to divorce my husband (we've only been married a couple of months) because of how cold he can be. Certainly God does not like divorce and I did make a vow in front of God. I never pressure my husband into going to church because I can't stand to be pressued into anything. However, my husband has already cheated on me and he has a problem with deceiving me. He makes my parents and others believe that he does love me and he wants to make me happy. Sometimes I see it, more often than anything else, I don't see it. Has anyone ever experienced this type of madness before?

"Yoking" (marriage corinthians)? Could i get some christian opinions on the bit about not yoking yourself to a non christian in the corinthians. I have heard that this does not clearly mean marriage. If not what is the bibles position on marriage to a non christian? In another section of the corinthians Paul says that the wife will be santified by her husband (and vice versa). Also I'm not sure the Solomen bit is relevant as it refers to other gods not just someone who is not religious. Therefore they would not influence you over to their gods.

Which is the verse that state that Chrisitans and non-believers should not yoke in marriage? I try to search via New Testament (except Revelation) but I can't locate the verse. I saw it few years back but not sure is it in Acts or one of Saint. Paul's epistles. Is it specially on marriage issue? Pls advise. Thanks.

can you explain to me why so many "unequally yoked" marriages work? i always see people asking questions like "should i date out of my religion" and most christians answer "no" i know firsthand that it works, what gives you the idea that it doesn't.

unequally yoked? if i decided to marry some one whom is not my religion am i automatically going to hell? I highly doubt it. I mean its not like i married the person because of religion..so why would you try to persuade them into being something that they are not? not all unequally yoked marriages fail. Its all about the people and rather they want to make it work or not. Is outlawing gay marriage a slippery slope? Why don't people realize that they won't be able to stop at just outlawing gay marriage! After they've outlawed that, then they'll make interracial marriage illegal. And then marriage between those who are unequally yoked. What does the bible say intra-faith marriage? I'm about to get married to a man that is catholic and I'm southern baptist. Is this being "unequally yoked". Is there anything in the bible that warns against this?

To Christians: Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers. Do you? 2 Cor 6:14 We have been ridiculed for having a strict interpretation of the verse as prohibition of interfaith marriage. Accordingly for many, yoke means just an "association" as in "dont associate with unbelievers". But we find such meaning as absurd because we all associate one another regardless of faith. For us, yoke means bond or union. Marriage is bond and a union of two individuals. Our point is: This practice of non-interfaith marriage is NOT a new thing. This was a strict policy of God in the ancient Israel. If you ask who are the unbelievers? The unbelievers are those outside of the church. Common excuse I heard is: If you are truly in loved with someone, God is pleased for God is love and Love is even greater than Faith and Hope. (Our response: Love the world and you'll hate God) IM SORRY the question doesnt fit on the provided space. At any rate, by sense, you can follow from the details that I am asking for explanation why interfaith marriage is not an article of faith for many so-called christian churches today. For Catholics, you can just pay for the wedding ceremony and the priest never ask your religion. And so with protestants. Ours is the only notable church in our area where members are even expelled for violation of this commandment.

Should it be illegal for Christians to marry non-Christians? Seeing as how the Bible is cited as authority for denying marriage equality to same-sex couples, shouldn't we also be debating whether or not to forbid Christians from 'unequally yoked' marriages? Guidance on Patience? I am currently involved in a temporary separation with my husband. We are probably borderline divorcing, but no one has said anything concretely. I'm pregnant with our first child. Although I have been getting some brief council via email, my patience wears thin. It wears thin because my husband and I have been married short of a year and we have been through everything it seems already. He's not talking to me when I call & it hurts because I don't deal with rejection well at all. Interfaith marriage...can it work? PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU RESPOND! I am Christian, raised in a Christian home. I have met and fallen in love with a wonderful man, however he is Muslim. He is my world and I am his. I can't imagine us not being together. We have discussed our differences of faith, we respect each others faith. We agreed that when we marry we will not pressure each other to change. We will study God's Word and the Quran together. We want to be together. We believe that we are equally yoked, as God commands in the Bible. When we pray, we pray to the same God. We will be there for each other and are open to talking about our difference. He lives in Cairo and has a successful life there. I am American and I have already been divorced and have two children. We have agreed to have no more children. He will raise mine like they are his. He wishes for us to move to Cairo to be together. We will attend Christian church as a family. I feel great about this. But I would like to hear your opinions. Thanks!

Christians and marriage? Someone asked if we were equally yoked. What does it mean if we are not? What will happen? I'm sure we are not equally yoked. I was raised in church. He wasn't. I have been saved for years. He has been saved about 8 months.

Unequally yoked divorce/annulment? Help!? I married last year after 8 months of dating. He joined my church and was loved by all of our members. Need advice from Christians, real God-loving Christians? I love God, I believe in God, I know He exists and I know Heaven exists. I know there are certain things a Christian shouldn't do and certain things a Christian should do. I have fallen from grace and have acted in a way a Christian should not. I am 18 years old, unwed and pregnant. My boyfriend is 21 and Jewish. I know the Bible says that it's best not to be unequally yoked and that marriage is to be everlasting and should not be taken lightly. I am aware of these teachings and the strength it takes to be with someone of a different faith. My parents are trying to convince me that being with him is against my best interest, against the best interest of my child. They continue to tell me that I am not a believer, I am not a Christian because of this. This question is for matured christians only? The Bible tells us not to be yoked with unbelievers . I am into an arranged marriage according to our culture so I did'nt have a chance to know my spouse before marriage but he too is of the same religion(christianity) . Ive recently came to my conclusion Im an Atheisic leaning Agnostic. My wife is Born again should I tell her? Weve been married 4 years and at the time I considered my self A Christian. I felt I needed to hurry and affix myself that label and the church has its ways to really make you think you beleive. Now I feel Ive changed, Ive grown but my wife has no idea, and I just hide it and go along with it even though it now seems like witchcraft to me. I cant even have a conversation without God being mentioned every 5 minutes. Should I tell her at the risk of her divorcing me because were no longer equaly yoked? Or should I keep it inside and go with the flow so I dont ruin my marriage which is what I fear will happen. I would like her to see why Ive changed my views but I never think it would be possible for her to honestly see how and why I think this way or change her views. Its like when I hit 30 my mind really wanted to explore the world and religions and I was able to come to my own personal conclusion based on fact finding and research, she is 40 and Im afraid set in her ways plz help My wife is HEAVILY steeped in her faith, she clung to it after a bad breakup 10 years ago. Are there STILL Christians who believe that the Bible Forbids Interracial Marriages? I know the answer to this and will give it here...I just wanted to see how many Christians still believe that it is wrong..(I am a Christian) The Bible does not forbid interracial marriages. It does, however, forbid a Christian from marrying an unbeliever: "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?" Since when do musicians throw bridal showers? My friend, who stood up for my wedding five years ago, asked me to be a musician at hers. This is fine; I feel the attendants should agree with the marriage, and he being 27 years her senior, divorced three times, and blind to her being her first marriage,,, makes them very unequally yoked. Anyway, she left me a message on my cell yesterday telling me that her mom was going to contact me about planning her shower? I'm working on a musical piece, and aren't the bridesmaids supposed to do this? She didn't have much involvment in planning my bridal shower, BTW. Lucky she showed up.... the wedding is aug 8, btw.
